Following a devastating 2012 fire, the West Portal location of Squat & Gobble has been resurrected, not unlike a zombie bird that majestically rises from the ashes to continue to squat and gobble.
It’s taken 16 months to rebuild from the fire that caused over $7 million worth of damage to the block. Since the Squat & Gobblers essentially constructed the building anew, the restaurant has a new look as well. There’s an upstairs dining room, which is hoped to be used as a group dining area, and a shiny new kitchen and interior design. This is the mini-chain’s fifth location in San Francisco; the menu is similar.
Oh, and there is free coffee all week for you West Portal people.
Open daily, 8am-10pm.
